The book I read was Uglies by Scott Westerfield. This book is about Tally Youngblood a fifteen year old living
in a future where from the ages twelve to fifteen you
are considered "ugly." Once you turn sixteen the city
completely restructures your face and body to make you
"pretty."While trying to sneak out to visit a friend Tally meets
Shay another fifteen year old about to go through surgery,
but Tally finds out that Shay has completely different thoughts
on what the city does to you. Because of the actions Tally's
new friend chooses to do she gets twisted up in a plot that
makes Tally begin to question what being "pretty"and"ugly"
really is. This science fiction novel is sure to keep you
reading until the very end.
