This book is about a girl named Kate who is an only child. While young, Kate is diagnosed with leukemia. Kate's parents must decide if they should have another child, in order to get the child's stem cells and help Kate live. Kate's parents do have a little girl named, Anna. The parents use Anna's cells to help Kate with the leukemia. The book goes on and tells about the struggles between Kate's illness and Anna who as the younger sibling must give up a lot to take care of her older sister.
